Russia Trying Desparately to Stay Relevant in International Affairs

"Me Russia... me thinks missile shield is too agressive... Me want to pull out of treaty... wah wah wah.."

So Russia is pissed that they aren't the big kid on the international stage and get about as much attention as their former bloc nations. Communism caught up with them, their economy collapsed, and now they want respect 16 years later. It certainly doesn't help that they seem to have a spoiled little brat of an ex-KGB running their country. I don't mean to say Putin isn't an effective leader, but that little problem the US has with ignoring domestic issues, Russia seems to have 10-fold. No one is going to attack Russia... period. They are 1/6 the landmass on this planet and already survived 2 World Wars where they lost millions of their population. I think the missile shield is just as stupid but it seems to be failing all the time anyways so I don't think Russia has anything to worry about. Plus, theoretically it's a defensive weapon, as it only activates in the event a missile gets within "x" miles of the US border. Personally I wouldn't trust Russia to have complete control over its missiles anyways since half of them aren't even within their borders.

Whatever the reason, Russia doesn't need to pull out of Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. There's no reason to be pulling out of any treaties that stop nuclear proliferation. Boo on you Russia... boooooooo.
